Panamera – the best selling Porsche of the year.
The title of best selling Porsche was held by the Cayenne. Now after selling 678 Panameras in April, this new 4 door, front engine with a hatch holds the single month 2010 sales record for the P-car brand.
Porsche Cars North America announced that it sold a total of 1,747 Porsches in April 2010.
Porsche’s new four-door Panamera recorded its best-ever one-month sales of 678.
To date, Porsche has sold 3,410 Panamera models in the U.S. since it went on sale in October 2009.
SHOCKER: The Panamera is Porsche’s best-selling model, in the U.S., in 2010.
When did Porsche buyers become so practical?
At least the Panamera can be had in turbo trim with 500 hp (although that is about 50 hp shy of where it should be to keep up with some of the other family sedans out there).
Panamera v8 trim levels:
Panamera S ($89,800) 400-hp V8, 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds & top speed of 175 mph.
Panamera 4S ($93,800) same 400-hp V8.
Porsche Panamera Turbo ($132,600) turbocharged V8, 500 hp, 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds, top speed of 188 mph.
There are a couple of v6 models with 300 hp with a starting price around $75,000.
If you don’t like the looks of the Panamera, do yourself a favor and go sit in the driver’s seat of one. You’ll quickly notice you can not see the exterior of the car from this point of view and you’ll no doubt be pleasantly suprised by the great looking interior.
