Porsche 911 GT2 RS – The fastest & most powerful Porsche yet
Porsche has released specs on the new 911 GT2 RS, and wow!
620 horse power, 3,021 pounds, 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph.
Some perspective: the RS has 90 more horse power and is 152 pounds lighter than the current GT2. And for kicks, the RS is 5% more fuel efficient than the last GT2.
The 620 hp greatness comes from a modified version of Porsche’s twin turbo 3.6L flat six. Unlike the normal turbo, the GT2 RS (as with all 911 GT2’s) puts the power only to the rear wheels – no boring AWD for this 911.
Even without the safety and sanity of the AWD, Porsche says the GT2 RS will go around the Nürburgring Ring in 7:18!
The word is Porsche only plans to make 500 of the RS’s.
How to know you have spotted one: The RS has wider wheel arches, carbon fiber, carbon fiber, carbon fiber, center locking wheels and a few GT2 RS badges all over the car.
To top it off, tires had to be specifically developed for the GT2 RS – 245/35 ZR 19 fronts and 325/30 ZR 19 rears, making the burnouts and donuts awesome, but costly.
The $253,000 list price 911 GT2 RS is the fastest and most powerful road going Porsche in history.
